"I see all the wonders that light performs with the objects. I see the forms, the glow, the reflections, the movements and impressions, the millions of tones and shadows. And I say - oh no, who am I to ignore all this magic?"

Karine Dulyan

Karine Dulyan is a contemporary artist based in Yerevan, Armenia.

She focuses on cityscapes and abstract paintings. Her first solo exhibition took place when she was only five years old. Later she chose to be an architect, keen on sketching and painting, and it wasn’t until 2020 that she decided to focus full-time on painting.

After graduating from the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, she spent three years in Spain, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Arts and New Technologies from European University of Madrid and in Urban Design from Madrid Polytechnic University.

Despite her career as an urban architect until 2020, she developed a solid academic foundation in painting during her time in the Art department at her university. Additionally, she attended various art studios led by artists and architects in Armenia, where she took classes in fine art, drawing, and sketching.

She works with watercolor, acrylics, ink, pastel, pencils, and other media. She is praised for the visual variety of her artworks, and the pleasant feelings they bring to people. Her works contain all her experiences as an architect, urbanist, traveler and are soaked with her childhood memories and dreams. Her main strength is seeing the beauty in the surrounding world and helping people see it as well.
